TUNESS members organized a fundraising event for the benefits of the orphins at Diar Al Amel. Thanks to the generous contribution of the many people and the effort of TUNESS volunteer and popluar musicans that contirbuted to the event to name few Yasmine Azaiez, Maya De Silva, and Andalusian and Mediterranean Music. After the event we were able to raise $2776.75, one TUNESS active member decised to round the number up to $3,000 before making the transfer to Tunisia. On behalf of the babies, Diar El Amel, president sent TUNESS members and all the contributors, a thank you letter and a scanned image of the receipt.

About the artists:

Yasmine Azaiez is an internationally renowned Tunisian violinist who performed in many festivals all over the World. She has recently ventured also into acting as she performed in the Tunisian movie "Tunisian Stories".

Maya De Silva is a internationally known flamenco Artistic Director, Dancer, Choreographer, and Professor. Maya has danced with Danza Espana, Maria Benitez, Flamenco Latino including performances at the Metropolitan Opera, Lincoln Center, and Boston Pops. She recently produced her Company “Falmenco Revolucion” in 2 seasons Odd Broadway. 

 

About Diar Al Amel:

All proceeds of this fundraising event will go to Diar Al Amel. Diar Al Amel is a pioneering orphanage house catering mainly to little babies. Diar Al Amel is now in dire needs of support and help to continue its noble and important mission.
